The Living Word app

The app runs entirely from your drive and never connects to the internet. Nothing you read, search, or write in it is sent to us or to anyone else.

• Your work (notes, Sandbox sessions, the Scratchpad, saved settings) is stored on your drive. If you turn on the optional safety copy, a backup is also kept on that computer. It's off unless you turn it on.
• Your license is a file on the drive. To enforce the computer limit, the app records a scrambled code for each computer it's used on, instead of the computer's actual hardware identifiers. The code stays on the drive and is never sent to us.

This website

We don't use advertising, tracking, or analytics on this website, and we don't sell or rent anyone's information.

• Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
• “Verify you are human.” The contact form and checkout use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser to tell people from automated programs.
• Your browser. The site remembers your cart and your “Larger text” choice in your own browser’s storage. That information stays on your device, and we can’t see it.

When you contact us

The contact form sends us your name, email address, the topic you choose, and your message. It’s delivered to our inbox by an email service called Resend. We use it only to reply to you and to help with your order or license.

When you place an order

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card or bank details. Stripe gives us what we need to fulfil your order: your name, email address, shipping address, what you bought, and the amount paid. Stripe also emails your receipt.

We use this information to ship your drive, to set up your license for the number of computers you chose, to check license reset requests against the email address you ordered with, to honor your warranty, and to keep the records required for accounting and taxes. Your address appears on the package we send, which is carried by the U.S. Postal Service.

For each drive we keep a record of its license ID, the order it belongs to, and the date and reason of any license reset.

Who else handles your information

We share information only with the services we rely on to run Living Word, and only for that purpose:

• Stripe, for payments: Stripe’s privacy policy
• Cloudflare, for hosting and the human check: Cloudflare’s privacy policy
• Resend, for delivering contact-form messages: Resend’s privacy policy

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep order and license records for as long as your warranty lasts and as long as tax and accounting rules require. We keep contact-form messages for as long as they’re useful for helping you.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We’ll do so, except for records we’re required to keep by law. To make a request, contact us from the email address you used with us.

Children

This website isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
